Cold feet (“care”)๐Ÿ‘ข๐Ÿ‘Ÿ

Dear Diary ๐Ÿ˜Š

“Cold feet” is an expression, and I have used it my self, as well as I have “felt” it “now and then”๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜‹

Today is not about the expression,- but about cold feet for real. A tiny digression, but still based on the “tema” “selfcare”, and still with a tiny “red line” to taks a bit care of cold feetโ„

I have never been so freezen cold on my feet as I has been the lasts winters here in Spain,- but I have never been so warm on my feet rather, as during the summertime here in Spain โ„๐ŸŒž

This slippers -called in english- tรธfler- is the name in norwegian- is a very necessery footwear during the wintertime in Spain ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘Ÿ

I remember my neighbour, long time ago, (actually some years ago) told me that he was always cold on his feet during the winter. And also some of my spanish students mention “cold feet and wintertime”. At the time I was more or less still “warm” at my feet,- but slowly that did change….

My neighbour told me he did sleep with socks on his feet during the winter, – and to be honest- I actually did smile a bit about that….at that time๐Ÿ˜…. Im still smiling,- but now its because I do understand why he did sleep with socks on his feet during the winter. Im using socks too at my feet now ๐Ÿ˜…. Its not very sexy๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜… but oh! its so comfy and warm,- and I sleep so good,-and have warm feet in the mornings.

My feet- cozy, warm and comfy during spanish cold winternightsโ„๐ŸŒ™๐ŸŒŸ

In the beginning I did think, maybe, it was because of the footwear “all” Spanish people was cold on theier feet during the winter. Maybe they didnt have good enough winter shoes and winterboots, warm, soft shoes to use inside and wool socks ???๐Ÿค”

That was not reason- at all! Its a lots of good footwear for the winter to buy here in Spain- but,- its not so much and many really good wool socks to buy. …made by real norwegian wool…..and they also have tiles in Spain….everywhere.

Some few different tiles used outside

My grandmammi always told me “if you are warm on your feet, you will keep your body warm as well”. And thats true. And the lasts winters I have really tried my best to keep my feet warm during the spanish winterโ„๐Ÿ”ฅ

Wintershoes, winterboots, woolsocks- to keep my feet warm during the Spanish winter ๐Ÿ˜‹

Tiles, so many nice, colourful tiles

So I did start thinking a bit about WHY I am so cold on my feet ( and its not just my feets, but others feets too).

My feet get so extremely freezing cold. I mean,- Im from Norway! I have been out in snow and minus degrees, (yeh,yeh- also “a coulpe of winterdays” too- but them we can take “a look at” an other day๐Ÿ˜…). Anyway- I havent been so cold at my feet as I m here during the winter.

Can it be the tiles? ๐Ÿค”

Its tiles everywhere,- inside, outside, on the wall, on the floor, in the stores, in the streets. Its made from stones, concrete and marble. Its nice and colourful,- and keep everything so clean, its looks so nice, and its also easy to keep clean too.

Its a part of the spanish culture and the spanish buildings constructions to use tiles,- and during the summer its necessary to keep the heat a bit down, inside the houses. The summer here is longer than the winter,- even it not feels like that when my feet is a bit like tiny ice blocks๐Ÿ˜…โ„.

But,- In the summertime the tiles is so deliciously cold. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘’๐Ÿ‘ก

We walk on this tiles every day, during the cold winter as well as the warm summers.

In the winter it feels like the coldness from the tiles slowly creeping up from my feets and during all over my body, and not just my body, but into my skeleton. I have never felt like my skeleton has been freezing before ๐Ÿ˜…,- but now I have. (of course the wind and rain during the winter also making my skeleton freezing).

Its difficult to explain this different kind of coldness in the winter in Spain, compared to the winters in Norway. Its feels actually colder here in the winter.

My freezing cold skeleton (pic borrowed from internet) and my warm winterclothes- to keep my skeleton a bit warm๐Ÿ˜Š

So slowly this spanish “cold feet” also became my “issue “๐Ÿ˜…after a couple of winters in Spain ๐Ÿ˜Š

I think, and my “conclusion” (but I can be wrong) its all this nice tiles “here and there and everywhere ” is one of the resson why my feet is so cold during the winter. We walk at the tiles all the time,- and its stone, different types and kind of stones,- but still stones,- outside and inside the houses, on the floor and the walls and the ceiling too. Nice, decorated stones, but cold stones. And they are all around us, starting at our feet๐Ÿ˜Šโ„๐ŸŒž

In Norway we have wood insted,- warm, soft wood in the floors and walls, and ceiling too ๐Ÿ˜Šand its necessary because of the clima in Norwayโ„,- like it’s necessary with the tiles in Spain ๐ŸŒž

My wintersuitcase- in the hottest summermonth in Spain ๐ŸŒž๐Ÿ›๐ŸŽ’

I don’t like to be cold, and my grandmammi did always put on nice, warm, soft homeknitted socks on my feet. ๐Ÿ‘Ÿ

When we did moved from Norway ( well,- at that time I didnt know I was “moving”- ๐Ÿ™„). But I did actually packed a suitcase full with winterclothes- wintershoes and winterboots, wool stilongs and wool socks, and a couple of other winterclothes. Yes- a suitcase๐Ÿ˜… (I did have some other suitcases with me too๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ›). But I didnt regret for my wintersuitcase ๐Ÿ’›

People,- my family, friends and even my children did smile a bit of me. Probably they did laugh a bit too๐Ÿ˜…. Me and my wintersuitcase ๐Ÿ˜…

We did arrived Spain in the middle of August – one of the warmest summermonths in the country๐Ÿ”ฅ๐ŸŒž. It was 30- 40 degrees, and I still cant forget the landlords very confused and suprised face when I did open my wintersuitcase๐Ÿ˜… Imagen,- 40 degrees and a suitcase full with winterclothes ๐Ÿ˜…

But I was nice and warm that winter๐Ÿ˜‰. It took a couple of winters before I became so cold on my feet๐Ÿ˜Š….after my feet has been walking on tiles for a while ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜Š

Some of my winterclothes from my wintersuitcase ๐Ÿ˜Š

During the wintertime I do put carpets on the floors now,- more or less in every room. Its helps a bit. And of course I “dress ” my feet very well.

A good friend of me in Norway always knitting socks to me. And I m using them every day during the winter- thats why she knitt new pear to me every year๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘Ÿ They get used very well ๐Ÿ˜Š

Some of my knitting scoks ๐Ÿ˜

Actually I should try to learn to knitting socks. I like to knitting,- but have not try to knitt socks yet. Maybe its a “salesmarked” in Spain for wool socks made by norwegian wool?

Well,- something to think about๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿค”

Ready to learn knitting socks?๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜Š

Any way,- I cant do any thing with the tiles, but I can “dress ” my feet as good as possible during the wintertime ๐Ÿ˜Š

And is also a very good reason to keep my “winterfur” on my legs in “shape” during the winter๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜‰,- so my legs is warm too๐Ÿ˜…

Now the Spring is here, and its time to find the sandals, remove “the fur”, and make my feet “pretty ” for the summer ๐ŸŒž๐Ÿ‘ก,- and feel the nice deliciously coldness from the tiles under my feet on a long summerday๐ŸŒž๐Ÿ˜Šinsted of the coldness the tiles give during the winterโ„

Some nice marble tiles ๐Ÿ˜Š

And its time to let the warm sun defrosting my skeleton very soon ๐Ÿ˜Šโ„๐ŸŒž
