Its no white Christmas ❄- but white Christmas cookies for Christmas instead πŸ₯―πŸŽ„

Hi ❣ it’s so nice to see you,- like always 😊 I hope all is fine with you 🧑

In Norway the old #tradition was to make 7 different kinds of Christmas cakes and cookies. At least 7 different recipes 😊. I actually did that too a couple of times,- but after a while I found out it was better to make more of the #cakes and #cookies my children did like and ate 😊.

It’s different traditions in different parts of the country (in #Norway), also when it comes to traditional Christmas- food, – like both dinner, cakes, cookies and desserts. I’m going to focus on my traditions ,- I think that’s best, since I can and know them best 😊.

This year it will be probably 4 different kinds of #Christmas cakes and cookies in my home, I think. And on “the baking- menu” today its something we call “hvite kakemenn” in Norwegian. The correct translation will be “white cookie men”,- but there are some other forms and shapes on this cookies then men πŸ˜…. So I prefer to call it for white Christmas cookies in English. Its “suits” a bit better 😊.

And of course this is #homemade, #Norwegian #Christmas- #cookies,- nothing else. Made from “the ground” , but easy to bake 😊.

The recipe for white Christmas cookies:

250 g wheat flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

175 gr sugar

2 teaspoon vanilla sugar – mix together

1 tablespoon soft margarine knead into the dry.

Stir everything with 1 cup of water.

Knead the dough well, it should not be chewy or sticky, preferably sprinkle with some extra wheat flour if it is moist.

Then roll the dough out as flat as possible. Put out cakes / biscuits with different cake shapes, and place on baking tray covered with baking paper.

Fry on 250 gr for about 5 min.

You have to be careful all the time, the cakes are cooked/ fried quickly. They should not be golden, but still white and fine, just slightly larger than when you put them in the oven 😊.

Then I have made 2 kinds of Christmas- cakes so fare 😊. Slowly I’m getting “there”,- and slowly the Christmas- sprit comes a bit back too 😊.

Enjoy the white Christmas cookies as best as you can 😊. Here in my home they normally “disappear” in my children’s mouths very fast πŸ₯°. They are #sweet and #soft, #easy to #make and fun to #create 😊.
