“Decorating” the tables in cafe Casa Barella/ La Cala 🎨 🍾💡

Hi ❣ It’s so nice to see you,- like always 😊 I hope all is fine with you 🧡

I have been so lucky to able to rent my friend, Natasja and her husband’s, and their family’s holiday home, abd this holiday home is very close to the beach too 🏖. It’s a nice and cozy place, and I can easily imagine myself enjoying staying here for a while 🥰. I’m not sure for how long I’m going to stay,- it depends a bit on a application I did send in some weeks ago 😀. But if that one doesn’t goes in my “direction” I m probably going to rent here until March or April next year (2022) , and then hopefully this holiday home will be filled up with other happy holiday guests 🏖.

I’m so so grateful for this opportunity to rent this holiday home that I wanted to give something back as a kind of “Thank you so much”- gift 🥰.

Natasja and her husband have a really nice and cozy cafe in La Cala/ Mijas, very close to the beach- and the name is Casa Barella 🍖🍷. There you can order and eat some delicious food, both breakfast, lunch and dinner, and even cakes if you want. And there’s also possibility for “take away” if you want that 🥡. Soft drinks, warm drinks, cold drinks,- the choice is yours 🍺🥤☕.

I asked Natasja if I could give her some painted glassbottles with string lights inside to put on the tables in the cafe as a “Thank you” – gift 🕯🎁. I need to ask her because there’s around 12 tables in the cafe and it was absolutely not sure she wanted 12 painted glassbottles, painted by me around on her tables 😅.

One or two painted glassbottles as a gift you can have the possibility to hide if you don’t like the bottle and the gift, but 12 can be a challenge 🙂. And to be honest, I didn’t want to start painting 12 glassbottles either if she didn’t want to have them,- but she wanted 😊🎨🍾. So then I started to paint 😊🎨. And of course all and everyone are “touched” with the favourite colour of her,- pink 😀.

One of the bottles I have painted to Casa Barella in La Cala/ Mijas- one of my favourites 😊

But….it was a bit difficult to stop the painting 😅. For some reason the painting during the last months has been my really time out and a kind of space to relax during busy days. And I also wanted to paint so many different images and illustrations on the bottles too. So….it became 25 glassbottles instead of 12 😅. Now she/ they can have 2 glassbottles on every table, or just have some in case there’s glassbottles that’s breaks. Lights to the bottles are also order, and will hopefully be delivered in a couple of days 💡.

This 25 glassbottles are not in the same size as a normal 75 cl winebottle is, just so you know. It’s smaller bottles, and of course it takes a bit less time to paint on a small bottle then a bigger one 🎨.

I haven’t took photos of the glassbottles in the same way like I normally do, but I have still taken some photos, so I can give you a kind of impression how the different glassbottles looks like.

Here are some of them,- I hope they will “lighten” up the tables a bit together with the delicious food in Casa Barella 😊.

And three flamencodancer was a bit “necessary” too,- and they are a bit cool. Flowers and dancers, or dancer and flowers, it depends a bit what direction you are looking at the bottle 😊.

I think the cafe Case Barella has a bit to choose between now when it come to table decorations 😊. Like you have a bit to choose between when you are looking at the cafe’s tasty menu 🍹🍖.

If you want to have a better look at the different bottles it’s probably best to visit Casa Barella for a nice and tasty meal, and take a tiny look at the bottles then when you are enjoying the food 😊.

So it became a tiny little bottle exhibition today. But as I mention, if you want to have a better look at the glassbottles just visit Casa Barella in La Cala/ Mijas, order a delicious meal and some drinks, enjoy the atmosphere and food, the life and maybe some glass bottle art too.

I wish you a great day or evening wherever in the world you are 🧡 Thank you so much for dropping by my blog today 🧡

See you soon 😊

And some more glassbottles, – the last ones 🎨

There’s something to choose between in the cafe Casa Barella in La Cala/ Mijas 🥡🍖. Breakfast, lunch and dinner, even some cakes if you want 🎂. Cold drinks, soft drinks, warm drinks, the choice is yours 🍺🍹🥤. And there’s even some painted glassbottles in Case Barella too,- all and everyone “touched” by the colour pink. Do you want to take a tiny look at them ? 😊

I have baked a little for my children 🥯🍪💛

Hi ❣ It’s so nice to see you,- like always 😊 I hope all is fine with you 💛

I’m enjoying my Easter holiday, and I’m using it to more and less what I had in mind too 😊.

I have been sleeping a lot, and I needed it. It was some very busy days on the phone before the Easter at my customer service agent job 🎧. That’s the way it is sometimes 😊. And I know it will be busy on the line after the Easter as well, so I need to “recharge” my batteries a bit 😊.

I have been working at my freelance work too during the Easter. But that’s a job where I can log in and out a bit like it suits me, so I can more and less choose when I want to work as long as there’s work to do. And it’s has been some work to do the lasts days, and that’s good 😊.

And I have been baking to my children,- my oldest and my youngest. The one in the middle is in Norway so it’s a bit difficult to bake something to him. But maybe my daughter is travelling to Norway next month, and then she can bring something from me to my son in the middle 🥰.

Homemade cinnamon buns 😊

I like to bake, and I like to help my kids with fill up their freezer a bit. And of course I bake something my kids like to eat too😊. So at my first baking day it’s became homemade cinnamon buns 😊.

I know my oldest son is working a lots of nights at the moment, and I know he can be a bit lazy with the food then. So then it became some pizza whrils too from mammi 🍕.

Homemade pizza whrils 🍕

And then it also became some homemade sweet cookies with a lots of calories. Something that’s good for both of my kids (actually all three, but still one is in Norway 😊) and me. I have that opinion that it’s better to have a couple of kilos to much on the body then to less. Something that it’s a bit difficult for both my children and me. We are obviously just created to be a natural thin, but still we can “help the nature” a tiny bit and as good as we can with some good and homemade food with a touch of magic calories for our bodies now and then 😊.

Homemade American cookies 🍪

It was actually one of my students when I was a teacher for bakery and conditioner many years ago that teached me this recipe for the American cookies 🍪.

And to the end the cookies that takes longest time to back- Sara Bernard cookies 🍪

Normally I bake Sara Bernard cookies to Christmas, but this Christmas became and was a bit different then “usual”,- so I made them to the Easter instead 😊.

You will find all the Norwegian recipes under the category for “Homemade Norwegian food and recipes” , if you are interested to try to bake some of my “baked goods” 😊. I have made and shared this before 😊.

My mam did this to me,- baked different kind of “baked goods ” when I was living in Norway so I could have in my freezer 😊. And I really presage it. It made busy days with three children so much easier for me 🥰. My children don’t have their own children yet, but I know they have some busy days at work. And if I can make their days a bit easier with some homemade food and “baked goods” in their freezer, I do it with love and pleasure ❤.

If you want to try some of my “baked goods” I have shared with you today I hope you will enjoy it. I think it’s tasty and delicious, but we all like different things 😊.

I wish you a great day or evening wherever in the world you 🧡 Thank you so much for using your time and dropping by my blog today 🧡

See you soon 😊

My “baked goods” this Easter to my children so they can have some homemade and tasty food in their freezer for busy days 🥰

I have been baking a bit to my children during the last Easter days, so they can have some Norwegian homemade and tasty food in their freezer for busy days 🍪🍕. I like to bake, and it’s in general nice to have something homemade and baked to also offer friends and guests when they are dropping by 🥰.

Waffles for lunch with cheese and ham in the batter- mmm… tasty 😊🥞

Hi ❣ It’s so nice to see you,- like always 😊 I hope all is fine with you 🧡

As some of you know one of my best friend, Natasja, visit me after work this week, and I wanted to give her some tasty homemade Norwegian food with a “touch” of “the lunch- feeling”. Then it became waffles with cheese and ham in the batter/ mixture 🧀🥓.

It’s tasty, delicious and fill up your stomach 😊. And well worth to try. This is something you easy can bring to work in your lunch box too, or just enjoy at your home office, or together with family and friends 🥰.

I actually made two waffles batter/ mixture. One ordinary and one with ham and cheese. Just in case Natasja didn’t like my “lunch waffles” with ham and cheese 😊. And Norwegian homemade waffles are in general not wrong, and in general “a safe winner” 😊.

My ordinary Norwegian waffle recipe: ( around 10 “waffles plates”) 🥞🥓🧀

2 eggs and 1 dl water – whisk together.  4 tablespoons sugar, 3 dl wheat flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder, 2 dl sour cream, 100 g melted butter.  Mix everything together into a fine and rich mixture. ( I actually also did have a tiny bit pepper and oregano in the mixture- just to spice the waffles up a bit.)

Then mix in 150 g ham, cut into pieces, and 200 g grated cheese.

Spread a little butter on the waffle iron and fry the waffles golden.  Eat and enjoy 🥞.

You can also put the waffle batter in the fridge for a while.  Sometimes I make waffles once the waffle batter is ready.  Other times I make the waffle batter the day before and leave it in the fridge to the next day.  I think the waffles taste just as good anyway, – while others think the waffles are best after the batter has stuck in the fridge.  But as you know – the taste is like the butt, it is divided 😊.

To the ordinary waffles I did served different jams, butter, sugar and cinnamon 🧂.

To the waffles with the jam and cheese I did served a mix of onion and paprika mixed together with Greek yogurt, homemade garlic dressing, potato salad and tomatoes. I also had s bit Spanish omelette, just in case 🥘.

Norwegian homemade waffles spiced up with ham and cheese in the batter 🧀🥓.

The waffles with ham and cheese was not to bad, they was in their own way tasty, and like I mention, good to use as lunch, special together with something else like a creamy cheese or potato salad or maybe boiled eggs. But I need to admit that the ordinary and original Norwegian recipe for homemade waffles is the best. And Natasja was agree with me in that case 😊.

It was the first time Natasja actually tasted homemade Norwegian waffles, and just to make it a bit extra cozy and create a nice atmosphere I took out the waffle iron into the patio and fried the waffles outside in the lovely Springsun.  Fresher waffles than that I do not think it is possible to get 😊🥞. And the best thing, Natasja actually did like the taste of homemade Norwegian waffles 😊.

In general I like to try my best to create a nice and cozy atmosphere around me, and special when I have guests. For me it’s my way to show that I really presage my guests, their company and the time they choose to use together with me, and I want them to fell welcome too 🥰.

So when Natasja came to visit me we had a lovely time outside in the sun, made waffles outside, drank tea and had some very value conversations as well as good laughs 😊. A nice afternoon in very good company, like a kind of “refill” of energy 😊. Something that’s necessary,- and I really hope you have some great friends that give you a “refill” of energy now and then 😊.

I wish you a great day or evening wherever in the world you are 🧡. Thank you so much for using your time and dropping by my blog today 🧡.

See you soon 😊

Homemade Norwegian waffles, outside in my patio in the sun together with one of my best friends 😊.

I like to try out new things, and this time I did try to mix ham and cheese into the waffle batter/ mixture 🥞. It tasted good, a kind of great as lunch together with something else. But,- to be honest, my original and ordinary homemade Norwegian waffles without cheese and ham inside is still the best 😊. But the best thing with this waffles afternoon was the company 😊🥀.

A classic, traditional and simple breakfast, lunch and dessert “in one” 🍞🥞

Hi ❣ It’s so nice to see you,- like always 😊 I hope all is fine with you 🧡

“Arme Riddere” is the Norwegian name and a Norwegian variant of the French “Pain Perdu”, and the German “Arme Ritter”, and the swedish “Fattige Riddare”, and the English “French Toast”, and also the Spanish “Torrija” 😊. It’s a bit like “dear child have many names” 😊. And that’s not strange at all,- because this kind of dish is so easy to make, so tasty, and can be made with different accessories and in different ways, even with slightly different ingredients in too.

So I think many people know this classic, simple, traditional and tasty breakfast, lunch and dessert 😊. Because this dish can actually been used as all three. Or at least we, me and my daughter, eat it to breakfast sometimes, and lunch other times. Sometimes also as a easy meal in between or even as an tasty dessert after dinner 🥞.

My Norwegian recipe for this easy and delicious little meal is:

6 slices loff (light bread), 2 eggs, 2 s sugar, 2 dl milk, 0.5 tsp cardamom, 1 tsp cable, and 1 s for frying.  (and I also have 1 tbsp with honey in the mixture).

Lightly beat eggs together with sugar, milk, honey and spices.  Pour the mixture into a dish.  2. Place the bread slices in the batter and let them soak through the liquid.  3. Take up the slices of bread and fry them with a little butter in the baking pan over medium-high heat.  Bake golden brown on both sides.  Placed on barrels.

The fried slices of bread can be served as is, or with jam, whipped cream and berries 🍓🍒.

This recipe with 6 slices of bread is enough for me and my daughter. We eat very easy 3 slices each 😊.

Like I mention, sometimes we have “arme riddere” for breakfast, other times to lunch. Sometimes as a snacks between two meal, or as an dessert after dinner 🥞.

It’s so easy to make, and it doesn’t take very long time either. It’s tasty and sweet, but at the same not to sweet.

I hope you will enjoy this delicious little dish as much as we do. A tiny little dish that can be used as both breakfast and lunch, as well as snacks between two meals, or a nice and easy dessert😊.

I wish you a great day or evening wherever in the world you are 🧡. Thank you so much for using your time and dropping by my blog today 🧡
