A little bit hot, yes 🌞🌡

Hi ❣ It’s so nice to see you,- like always 😊 I hope all is fine with you 🧡

I get “always” a bit supriced when we comes to August and the summer temperatures gets a bit “sky high” here in Spain 🌡. After living in Spain for 8 years I know August is a bit “hot” month, but I, in general, never remember how hot it’s actually can be 🌞.

This year I know it has been a bit higher temperature then before, and what’s in general is “normal” at this time of the year. There has been a “tiny” heat wave during the last week here in Spain, and yes it felt like a wave of heat too 🌊.

I like, no, not just like, I love the summertime, the sun, the beach (or even the pool) and actually that the temperature gets a bit higher during the summertime. But I need to admit that the last week was even a bit to high for me 🌞.

A wonderful sunrise at the train station one morning- and it’s going to be a nice, warm day…..even a bit “up heated” day too….🌞🌡

I really understand the concept “siesta” here in Spain now, because I needed to have a siesta every day after work this week 😴. And it has been a bit difficult to do to much then just the most necessary like do my job, drink a lots of water, eat, cool down in the ocean or under a cold shower 🚿. It’s incredibly how tired it’s possible to be when it’s over 40 degrees and maybe even a bit more then that during the day 😅. And the humidity does not help either, because it has not been directly low either.

Painting, writing, reading, be focused on something to long, even clean the house or wash clothes has been a tiny challenge to do, or knit 😅. But watch a movie or three like s zombie are going very well 😅.

Like I mention, – I have been living in Spain for 8 years now, but this August is the first year I have invested in a air conditioning on wheels, not just invested, but used it every day too, special when I’m at my work as a costumer service agent on the phone ☎️. I need to, and I want to be focused on my job, and do a good job as possible even during very hot summerdays 🌡🌞. So then it was necessary to get a tiny little air conditioning on wheels so I at least did (and can continue to do) a good job.

My tiny little air conditioning on wheels- a necessary investment during the last week 😊

I could probably count on one hand how many times I have used an air conditioning during this 8 years. But during this last week I can’t count it any more 😅.

I have been thinking it could be nice to put some of this heat on glasses for use to let a bit out now and then during the wintertime ❄. Special when we comes to February and March, maybe even a bit in January too. Because at that time of the year the temperature can be a bit opposite then now. Then it’s a bit cold. But, unfortunately, that’s not possible, that’s not the way it’s work 🍶.

The night sleep has also been a bit “cosmi comsa” too, to be honest, because I’m, my body isn’t use to have a over 2 hours power nap, or siesta during the daytime after my work.

And I’m not use to have any problems or challenges with sleeping during the nights, but that has been a challenge now. It’s not so hot on the nights as during the daytime, but still very warm. It can be the heat and the to long siesta that’s makes this challenges for my night sleep, or it can be the menopause. I actually don’t know. It can, of course also be a combination.

I have read somewhere that women in the menopause can get a challenge with the night sleep, but I don’t remember why. Different thoughts maybe? Or just the hormones changes that’s “plays” their own “games” during the night? But to be honest, I didn’t think the night sleep should be a challenge for me during menopause, because in general I just can go to bed, lay down and fell at sleep. But not during the last week 😳. I’m not use to that, to not be able to sleep. So of course I’m a bit extra tired because I don’t sleep very well during the nights.

I have even used a electricity fan outside when I have been outside in my cozy backyard “cafe” or at my sweet roof terrace 🌬. It has been necessary to just get a tiny bit “movement” in the air 🌬🌞. To get a “imagination” that the air became a tiny bit “cooler” ❄.

Are there climate changes that give us these different temperature fluctuations?  Or hot waves?  Major floods?  Landslides from the mountains?  And several other different natural challenges? 🤔. Probably. But this changes has been in the nature for thousands of years,- it all just happens a bit faster at the moment because of all the different changes we people have done around in the world, and in the atmosphere. And at the moment all I can do is to do the best of it. The changes. The challenges.

Hopefully it will be a bit better this upcoming week, a bit less heat wave, a bit lower temperature 🌞🌊. And a bit more energy and a bit more normal sleep too 😊.

But Im actually not complaining,- this is just the way it is at the moment. I feel very grateful for the possibility to actually be able to take a cold shower, to be able to buy a tiny little air conditioning on wheels, to be able to use a fan outside, to drink cold and fresh water and even feel the tiny fresh air from the ocean,- actually every day ❤. But maybe special during this last heat waved week in Spain. I’m feeling incredibly lucky ❤ for this different things and opportunities that’s, unfortunately, not are for all and everyone to have 😔

I wish you a great day or evening wherever in the world you are 🧡 Thank you so much for using your time and dropping by my blog 🧡

See you soon 😊

My fan I use outside at the moment 😊

This last week has been a bit hot here in South of Spain 🌡🌞. I even needed to “invested” in a tiny little, but well- functional, air conditioning on wheels this summer 🌞. Until this week I could count how many times I have used an air conditioning during the years I have been living in Spain- I can’t say I can do that anymore 😊🌡🌞.

“Decorating” the tables in cafe Casa Barella/ La Cala 🎨 🍾💡

Hi ❣ It’s so nice to see you,- like always 😊 I hope all is fine with you 🧡

I have been so lucky to able to rent my friend, Natasja and her husband’s, and their family’s holiday home, abd this holiday home is very close to the beach too 🏖. It’s a nice and cozy place, and I can easily imagine myself enjoying staying here for a while 🥰. I’m not sure for how long I’m going to stay,- it depends a bit on a application I did send in some weeks ago 😀. But if that one doesn’t goes in my “direction” I m probably going to rent here until March or April next year (2022) , and then hopefully this holiday home will be filled up with other happy holiday guests 🏖.

I’m so so grateful for this opportunity to rent this holiday home that I wanted to give something back as a kind of “Thank you so much”- gift 🥰.

Natasja and her husband have a really nice and cozy cafe in La Cala/ Mijas, very close to the beach- and the name is Casa Barella 🍖🍷. There you can order and eat some delicious food, both breakfast, lunch and dinner, and even cakes if you want. And there’s also possibility for “take away” if you want that 🥡. Soft drinks, warm drinks, cold drinks,- the choice is yours 🍺🥤☕.

I asked Natasja if I could give her some painted glassbottles with string lights inside to put on the tables in the cafe as a “Thank you” – gift 🕯🎁. I need to ask her because there’s around 12 tables in the cafe and it was absolutely not sure she wanted 12 painted glassbottles, painted by me around on her tables 😅.

One or two painted glassbottles as a gift you can have the possibility to hide if you don’t like the bottle and the gift, but 12 can be a challenge 🙂. And to be honest, I didn’t want to start painting 12 glassbottles either if she didn’t want to have them,- but she wanted 😊🎨🍾. So then I started to paint 😊🎨. And of course all and everyone are “touched” with the favourite colour of her,- pink 😀.

One of the bottles I have painted to Casa Barella in La Cala/ Mijas- one of my favourites 😊

But….it was a bit difficult to stop the painting 😅. For some reason the painting during the last months has been my really time out and a kind of space to relax during busy days. And I also wanted to paint so many different images and illustrations on the bottles too. So….it became 25 glassbottles instead of 12 😅. Now she/ they can have 2 glassbottles on every table, or just have some in case there’s glassbottles that’s breaks. Lights to the bottles are also order, and will hopefully be delivered in a couple of days 💡.

This 25 glassbottles are not in the same size as a normal 75 cl winebottle is, just so you know. It’s smaller bottles, and of course it takes a bit less time to paint on a small bottle then a bigger one 🎨.

I haven’t took photos of the glassbottles in the same way like I normally do, but I have still taken some photos, so I can give you a kind of impression how the different glassbottles looks like.

Here are some of them,- I hope they will “lighten” up the tables a bit together with the delicious food in Casa Barella 😊.

And three flamencodancer was a bit “necessary” too,- and they are a bit cool. Flowers and dancers, or dancer and flowers, it depends a bit what direction you are looking at the bottle 😊.

I think the cafe Case Barella has a bit to choose between now when it come to table decorations 😊. Like you have a bit to choose between when you are looking at the cafe’s tasty menu 🍹🍖.

If you want to have a better look at the different bottles it’s probably best to visit Casa Barella for a nice and tasty meal, and take a tiny look at the bottles then when you are enjoying the food 😊.

So it became a tiny little bottle exhibition today. But as I mention, if you want to have a better look at the glassbottles just visit Casa Barella in La Cala/ Mijas, order a delicious meal and some drinks, enjoy the atmosphere and food, the life and maybe some glass bottle art too.

I wish you a great day or evening wherever in the world you are 🧡 Thank you so much for dropping by my blog today 🧡

See you soon 😊

And some more glassbottles, – the last ones 🎨

There’s something to choose between in the cafe Casa Barella in La Cala/ Mijas 🥡🍖. Breakfast, lunch and dinner, even some cakes if you want 🎂. Cold drinks, soft drinks, warm drinks, the choice is yours 🍺🍹🥤. And there’s even some painted glassbottles in Case Barella too,- all and everyone “touched” by the colour pink. Do you want to take a tiny look at them ? 😊

The Easter is for me a Holiday🐣

Hi ❣ It’s so nice to see you,- like always 😊 I hope all is fine with you 🧡

Basically, Easter and the Easter celebration are built on and based on old religious scriptures, – long, long time ago. And it’s still a religious celebration in many countries, as in Spain and also on it’s own way in Norway too.

The Easter in Norway have actually more Holydays during the Easter then many other countries, even then the catholic Spain.

I’m actually not sure why it is like that, but in Norway the Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and the second day of Easter are public holidays. That means this days are in general days “off” from most work like public office and stores in general, with some very few exceptions. That means I’m also “off” from work this days, because I’m working for a Norwegian department in the company I’m working for 🌞.

It’s like a mini holiday, and to be honest, I feel I really need that now 🥰. I have been very tired lately, but I think it’s a combination of my age, my children has moved out and also there had been a detail in my working- situation during a period that has felt a bit like mental challenge / strain, but now this is also gone for various reasons. And the lasts week at work has been very busy “on the line” too. So a mini holiday will do well now 😊.

Some traditions, religions as well as cultural traditions, are changing in many countries during this corona- situation.

In Spain there has been different kinds of parades during the Easter as well as different “events” celebrations connected to the catholic Easter. And it’s great parades as well as “events”, but last Easter and this Easter there’s no parades or special public Easter “events”. I don’t know if this will come back when this corona- situation changes, but I hope so 📿.

In Norway many people travels to their cabins, on the mountains or close to the sea, during the Easter. It’s a kind of Easter tradition in Norway. Because it’s like a mini holiday, so people in general can use a bit more time in their cabins and in the nature then during a normal weekend. Last year and this year it has been different “discussions” during the media ( probably not just during the media, but I get the information about Norway during the media- at least most of it), if people should be allowed to travelling to their cabins because of the corona- situation 🏠. I think some will travel to their cabins anyway, but I also think this is a tradition that will continue, after the corona- situation is better, to travel to the cabin in the Easter.

My Easter traditions has in general been relaxing, spending time with my kids, family and friends. Good food and Easter eggs 🐣. We had some various excursions in the nature, or just stayed home. In a way “refill” our batteries in the way that’s “suits” us best. I’m not use to any big religious traditions, not either any “cabin- traditions”. And I haven’t miss it either, because I’m not use to it 📿🏠🐣.

Last Easter I was just home, no visit, no various excursions in nature, but I had “company” with my oldest son and his friend 😊. This because of the curfew and the different restrictions we needed to follow and “live by”.

This year- I’m going to just stay home too. I need to not do to much,- actually just “refill” my batteries, “recharge” my energies. And to be honest,- I’m not sure what kind of restrictions there are during this Easter either here in Spain at the moment. Some weeks ago I know there was some “talk about” closing down the city borders again, but if it is like that? I’m not sure. It’s to many changes in the restrictions, and sometimes a bit to fast too. So it’s not easy to follow up the changes all the time 😅.

I’m going to use this Easter holiday the way I want. Maybe bake something to my children so they can have in their the freezer. I know I’m going to sleep, but also paint and knit. Im going to have some nice walks. Actually,- just use the days I want in my own tempo and to whatever drops into my mind 😊. Days with no expectations from anyone- not my kids, not my friends. Sounds maybe a bit “selfish”,- but I haven’t actually been planning anything with anyone on purpose. I really need this days without to many plans. What’s happen and dropping by during the Easter,- I don’t know, but I know I just take it from there 😊.

Isn’t that a bit like what a holiday is about? Not to many plans, just enjoy the time? 🐣😊

I wish you all a Great Easter, – with or without to many plans, religious or not 🐣📿🏠.

I also wish you a great day or evening wherever in the world you are 🧡 Thank you so much for using your time and dropping by my blog today 🧡

See you soon 😊

My Easter eggs this year 🐣😊

I wish you all a Great Easter, – with or without to many plans, religious or not 🐣📿🏠. Enjoy every second of the Easter the way it’s suits you best 🐣. That what’s I’m going to do 😊🐣.

7 months is not even the Spanish “manana manana” 😳😅 ….or? 🤔

Hi ❣ It’s so nice to see you,- like always 😊 I hope all is fine with you 🧡

Things takes time in Spain. Not all things, but actually still a lot, special when it comes to different constructing- works, public office work and a bit more. Also sometimes just standing in the line in the store can take a bit time. Let me put it this way,- I’m become a bit good to accept to wait for things here in Spain. As means also accepting that things probably never will happen,- like get a fiber net into my home. I at least thought 🙄.

As some of you know I’m teaching some Spanish students to learn Norwegian, and I’m using ordinary Norwegian teaching books and teaching materials.

In one of the books I’m using we are at the moment in the subject area of “studies, education and work”. And one of the questions in the capital we are going through was about different works- culture and traditions in different countries.

I needed to laugh a bit when my student told my that the work- culture in Spain was a bit “manana manana”,- because that’s so true 😅. It means “tomorrow tomorrow”. “We do it tomorrow”, “we will finish it tomorrow”,- and then it’s a new “tomorrow” again and again 🙄.

I have this experience in different areas myself when it come to waiting and “manana” here in Spain. Waiting for a new washing machine for severals weeks, or waiting for new wheels to my car, waiting for students to show up, waiting for money after doing some work, waiting for a date on a cafe, waiting for the bathroom to be fixed, waiting…. waiting….and waiting a bit more on and at different levels, things, stuffs 🙄. And I’m still not use to or comfortable with this “manana manana”. I still think its disrespected and I don’t like this part of the Spanish culture,- to be honest.

I have tried to change my internet for a while as some of you know, and the plan was actually to get fiber net into my home last summer. Jepp,- last summer. That never happen, and after 4 months of waiting I just cancelled the whole fiber net contract.

Different techniques and fitters come and went again without doing anything. Some said it wasn’t possible and some said “manana”. So to the end I did cancel the contract and order my own internet instead. A stable internet service, good connection and very functional everywhere as long as there are 4G in the area.

And yes it’s my own internet, in a way, because I can use it all over Spain and it’s not connected to any special company. I need to pay for the monthly use, of course, and I also needed to buy the internet box and sim- card. But it still in it’s own way my internet ,- and it’s in function 😊.

I’m working from my home and then a functional and stable internet it’s a must. If not I can’t do my work. No work, no income.

But suddenly last week I got an text message on my phone that the plan was to install fiber internett into my home. The technique actually did call me too. But to be honest, I actually didn’t believe it, or him. And I didn’t care very much about the message or time or appointment or nothing either. I have heard this so many times during the last months already 😅.

But,- the technique did actually come 🙄. And started to plug cables and move around my stuff in the livingroom. He was even under my working- desk when I was working 😅. I’m actually a bit happy no one did see that, because that “situation” could easily been a bit misunderstood 🤭.

And “vola” after 3 hours of work from the technique I got the fiber internett I order 7 months ago 😅. I think that’s the longest “manana manana” I have experienced so fare here in Spain 😅.

After having a unstable and expensive internet for to long- I have suddenly two different and very functional internet in my home 😅…and not to expensive either.

Well,- I actually don’t need two different internet in my home, but it’s not to bad to have a internet “back up” either 😊. Special after the different not best internet experiences I have had during the last years. But I should probably had this solution last year when we was around three persons who had home- office in my home for several months.

Well,- it’s an expression that say “better late then never”,- and I can be agree about that. And maybe I can work twice as much now since I have two different internet connections and solutions in my home? 😊

Like I mention,- I’m not the biggest fan of this “manana manana” attitude many have here in Spain, but what to do? It’s to find solutions on your own, or accept the things for what it is 😊. Or maybe hope that this “manana manana ” attitude will change one day? I’m not sure about that, because it’s, unfortunately, a part of the culture here in Spain. But it’s always allowed to hope 😊.

I wish you a great day or evening wherever in the world you are 🧡 Thank you so much for using your time and dropping by my blog today 🧡

See you soon 😊

A bit work both outside and inside my home to manage to get the fiber internett,- but it’s in good function now 😊.

It’s different cultures and traditions in different countries all over the world 🌏,- also when it comes to the work- situation and the work- culture 🛠. Spain is a bit “famous” for the “manana manana” work- culture and attitude 🙄. A kind of “culture” and attitude I’m not the biggest fan of to be honest….special not when the “manana” takes 7 months 😅.

Different traditions are changing ⏳🌍

Hi ❣ It’s so nice to see you,- like always 😊 I hope all is fine with you 🧡

Different traditions are changing in our society and cultures. Something that’s actually normal, but not during just one year?

In general there’s always some small changes because we are so many different people living together from different countries, cultures and with different traditions. An slowly we do “adopt” traditions from each other. But during the last year the different changes in our culture traditions have changed very fast, and not because of “adoption” from other people, cultures and traditions. But because of different restrictions.

Even society traditions like hugging and kissing on the cheek is not “allowed” or “reccomend”. Not even a polite handshake are recommended anymore.

In one way there’s not many cultures and society traditions left at the moment. That’s a bit sad.

At the same time we still have some “few” left like sessions and Holyday decorations and different food traditions during the different seasons and holydays. And we can keep up some traditions in our private homes too. But there’s still many traditions, special traditions that in it’s own way “connected” the people together and created a kind of affiliation between the people in the different cultures and countries. This are in a way a bit “gone”. For a while or forever?

The different traditions is a part of the culture, and when different traditions “disappear” also a part of the culture “disappear” too. As well as the feeling of “belong” to a society.

Already last Spring the Easter traditions in Spain changed from big parades to web- religious service. Weddings- celebration are changing, and funerals are changing too. Baptism and confirmation celebrations are changing as well. Parties and celebrations of different kinds are allowed, but with different restrictions.

The big celebration of San Juan, the 23. June, in Spain, last summer did change, and the celebration of the Constitution Day, 17 May, in Norway did change as well. Like I mention, the big Easter traditions and celebration in Spain changed last year, and what about the Three Holy Kings celebration? There will not be any parade this year where the three Holy Kings are given out sweets, or funny figures with a lots of candy to the people who watching the parade.

Most of us also needed to change the Christmas- celebration and traditions as well as the New Year celebration last year.

The different changes is based on different restrictions we need to follow during this coronavirus- time. And we are changing too. The people, the humanity are changing because of the traditions and cultures are changing. Because of the restrictions we need to follow.

Traditions and cultures are a part of the society, and that part is not very much left off during this days, weeks and months we have been living with the different restrictions and the coronavirus in our society. Will our different traditions be the same after this coronavirus- situation? Will the different cultures be the same? And will the people, the humanity and society be the same?

I don’t know. I don’t have the answers, unfortunately, I have just the questions at the moment. And I will probably not have the answers either.

But I think it’s sad tha so many culture traditions and social traditions are changing so fast. It does “something” eith both the society, the people, the traditions, the culture and the feeling of affiliation to “something”. “Something” that’s in its own way are not there at the moment, or at least not in the way we are use too.

Like I mention,- it’s natural that traditions and cultures are changing, it’s actually a part of the history, but not so fast as now, and in general not because of different restrictions either.

At the same time,- people have been living together during wars and under other pandemi, and manage to keep up many traditions in their cultures and their society. So maybe it’s a tiny bit of hope that we will see the Three Holy Kings parade again one day? Or be able to give each other a “allowed” hug, or walk in the Norwegian Constitution parade? Or maybe celebrate the San Juan at the beach again or shake the hand to someone in a polite manner?

I hope so. I hope this is just “a break” and “a timeout” before we can continue our different traditions in the different cultures and our society.

I wish you a great day or evening wherever in the world you are 🧡. Thank you so much for using your time and dropping by my blog today 🧡.

See you soon 😚

A Christmas star decoration in the centre where I live- the Christmas- decorations haven’t changed (yet…..) 🌹

Traditions in different countries and cultures are changing, and the changes has happen just under a year ⏳. The changes does something with the people, the society and the feeling of affiliation. Hopefully this changes is just a “timeout”, and we will be able to walk in the Norwegian Constitution parade or watching the big Easter Parade in Spain very soon 🌹.
